Reconnecting with Your Sexuality After Trauma

Thursday, June 6th — 7:30 pm — $10-25

Jimanekia EbornA lot of people feel like survivors should not be sexual, but “Trauma Queen” podcast host, Jimanekia Eborn, thinks that is ridiculous.

Jimanekia is a sexual assault survivor and sex educator devoted to guiding other survivors in everyday life. In this workshop, she will cover the different types of sexual trauma and provide a starting place for healthy processing. There will be discussion about things that may come up for survivors and how to tackle them, as well as some tools to get you reconnected with your sexuality. Because trauma is something that has happened to you. It is not all of you.

By the end of this class, you’ll learn how to start the healing process and begin to handle the shame that may be connected with surviving a sexual trauma.

DISCLAIMER: This class is not therapy or a replacement for professional psychological care. It is a course run by a sex educator with knowledge of living and loving in the world as a survivor of sexual assault. We will not be delving into memories or interpreting yours.

Jimanekia Eborn has worked in mental health for the last 10 years, which is where she saw the need for sexual education and sexual trauma support. This has led to her passion for assisting and supporting those that are sexual assault survivors and those without access to comprehensive sex education. Her compassion and passion for these populations have pushed her to continue building safe spaces for clientele, sharing education, and supporting their mental spaces. You can find her work at Traumaqueen.love.
