Rebecca Koon

This class will be held online via Zoom — you’ll receive an email with access information prior to the event. Registration deadline: 2:30 p.m. PST on the day of class. No day-of cancellations.

Are you a parent or caregiver who knows you need to go beyond “the talk,” but just aren’t sure what kids need to know when, or exactly how to go about telling them? In this class with Rebecca Koon, you’ll build knowledge and skills that will help you talk about sexuality with the littles in your life with ease and confidence.

We’ll go over what sexuality is (it’s a lot bigger than you might think!), why it’s so important to talk about it early and often, how to clarify your values, and exactly what kids need to know at what age. You’ll also learn a step-by-step process for answering even the toughest questions, get tips for starting conversations and a list of recommended resources for both kids and adults. Come with your questions and challenges so we can think through them together! This class will be most relevant to caregivers of 4-12 year olds, though others are also very welcome.

Rebecca Koon has been teaching sexuality for over 10 years to people of all ages. She got her start in Planned Parenthood’s education program, has trained reproductive health care providers, teachers, and other youth-serving professionals, and she’s been a labor doula and childbirth educator. She did graduate work in Women and Gender studies and brings an intersectional feminist approach to all of her work.

We’re offering 2 free class spots to folks with financial need; please fill out this form if you are interested. Two people will be chosen randomly and contacted at least 2 weeks prior to class to confirm.
