No matter the duration of an actual trauma event, the effects can be long lasting. They spill over into our physical bodies and how we react to certain situations. When we feel as though part of ourselves is taken away or lost, it can be a struggle to reclaim it. This class with Miss Mackenzee is designed to give you tools to care for yourself and take back your identity. It is possible to feel joy and excitement after surviving a traumatic experience.
Topics to be discussed include:
- Exercises to get back in touch with your body
- Positive affirmations and mantras to help in your journey
- Stepping stones that will set you on a path to becoming more comfortable in your skin
- How to connect with someone new when you’re ready
- Worksheets and activities to help discover yourself all over again
- And so much more
Even if you haven’t had first hand trauma but have a close friend or partner who has, you are welcome in this class and can learn ways to help support your loved ones as they rebuild themselves and find pleasure again.
This workshop is meant to be an inclusive environment that is accommodating for all types of people. You can participate in a way that feels comfortable for you, whether that’s having your camera on, joining in the chat, or remaining anonymous while taking in all the information. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any accessibility needs.
