Diving Deep into Muffing
November 15, 2023 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm PST
This class will be held LIVE online via Zoom — Zoom links are sent out 3 days prior and then again 1 hour prior to start time. The class will be recorded and available for a limited time shortly following the class. Registration deadline: 1 hour prior to class PST. No day-of cancellations.
Muffing is a sexual activity that involves penetrating the inguinal canals of folks with external gonads (basically, fingerbanging the “pockets” above and behind the testicles and scrotum). The term “muffing” was coined by Mira Bellwether in her foundational zine Fucking Trans Women, and since then articles and zines have described this activity. But this is the first community workshop of its kind. Join Lucie Fielding for this 2-hour exploration of muffing, complete with demos.
For folks with external gonads and those who have sex with them, muffing can be a way of queering up sex, circumventing tremendously limiting culturally proscribed/prescribed understandings of the erotic, and opening a potential universe of pleasure!
Lucie Fielding, PhD, MA, LMHC (she/they) is a queer, trans misogyny-affected (TMA) femme, and a therapist practicing in Virginia and Washington (on Monacan and unceded Duwamish land, respectively). In addition to being a therapist, Lucie is a sex educator, an adjunct professor in the sex therapy certificate program at Antioch University, and the author of Trans Sex: Clinical Approaches to Trans Sexualities and Erotic Embodiments (2021), which was named a 2022 Lambda Literary Award finalist (in the Transgender-Nonfiction category) and the winner of the 2022 AASECT Book Award (Book for Sexuality Professionals).
