Make Your Own Pasties with L’Pow’s Nina Nightshade

Thursday, December 6th — 7:30 p.m. — $25

The word “burlesque” brings to mind images of gorgeous, twirling pasties. However, those fancy ones you see performers wear don’t come from a box…

Learn how to make pasties in this hands-on workshop with Orchestre L’Pow‘s Infamous Nina Nightshade. Nina will share with you the fine art of covering your nipples (just barely!) in luscious little confections. Class will be a fun lesson in making your own basic set of pasties, including decorating, adding twirly tassels, how to make the darn things stick, and even a little lesson in how to make those tassels spin. All supplies will be provided. Just bring yourself — and perhaps a friend or two!

With extensive dance and costuming experience, Nina Nightshade started her dancing career as Nina al Tawhil, a bellydance performer and instructor. After discovering the world of burlesque, Nina found a calling that she couldn’t ignore. Since then, she has performed all over the West Coast and Canada, including the 2011 Burlesque Hall of Fame Movers, Shakers & Innovators showcase. She produces an annual show featuring living legends, Bergamot Burlesque, and is currently a company dancer and co-producer for Orchestre L’Pow.
