Evolving Your Period
Sunday, May 17th — 7:30 p.m. — $20
Ah, a class about periods. I bet the last time you attended one of these (if ever…) you were a teenager, giggling or groaning as your PE teacher walked you through how to use a “sanitary” pad. There is so much more to learn! Registered nurse and sex educator Rae Higgins has created the period class that she wishes everyone had access to in, and after, their adolescence.
This workshop goes beyond tampons, pads, and the period talk you had in your junior high health class. Rae will introduce you to sustainable, body-safe period products (like cups, period panties/briefs, and other reusable alternatives), discuss the importance of inclusive non-binary language, and guide you through the ebbs and flows of the menstrual cycle — hormonal changes, tracking ovulation, and how to honor our bodies during each phase of the menstrual cycle. You will leave this workshop with the language, products, and information you’ll need to evolve your period.
All period-having folks are welcome.
