Sex Ed QUICKIE: Make an Impact (Play) in BDSM
June 28 @ 6:00 pm – 6:55 pm PDT

This class will be held LIVE online via Zoom — Zoom links are sent out 3 days prior and then again 3 hours prior to start time. The class will be recorded and available for a limited time shortly following the class. Registration deadline: 3 hours prior to class PST. No day-of cancellations.
If you picture a dominatrix, what do you see? Are they holding a whip or flogger? Although the terms “BDSM” and “kink” refer to all sorts of delightful ways of engaging the senses, impact play (a subset of pain play) is what many folks imagine. In fact, lots of folks have done it without even realizing it! Ever been spanked? You’ve engaged in impact play.
Impact play can be a safe place to start one’s journey through the land of dungeons and leather. But how does one safely explore all that impact has to offer? In this 55-minute Sex Ed QUICKIE with Aeryn Ayla, we will:
- Define impact play and pain play
- Learn basic anatomy and how to minimize risk
- Explore tools of the impact trade
- Brainstorm creative ways to play with household objects
- Share resources, ideas, questions, and more!
Aeryn Ayla (she/her) is the Education Coordinator at She Bop. She has been an educator and community organizer in the sex positive world for 5 years and an educator-at-large for 10 years.
