Hot, Healthy Humiliation

Sunday, August 26th — 7:30 pm — $15

Liz PowellAre you worried that there’s something wrong with you because you want someone to call you stupid, dirty, or a slut? Find out how to have hotter, deeper scenes and feel better about it afterward! So many people struggle to make sense of how they can be so woke and yet still want such dirty things. Whether degradation for you is about being a filthy bitch, a dumb sissy, or a worthless piece of fuck meat, you can still be a feminist, anti-racist, queer activist, or other Social Justice Warrior at the same time.

Join Dr. Liz Powell to explore the way to feel great about desires that seem troubling on the surface. At the end of this two-hour class, you will:

  • Understand that what gets you going in a scene doesn’t have to change how you think about yourself.
  • Learn how to provide good aftercare for both roles so that you can emerge from your play happy and enriched.
  • Understand that it’s totally normal (and even best) to be into social justice if you’re into degradation play, so that your play will be founded in healthy beliefs and practices, not in damaging ones.

People who don’t find a way to feel good about their desires can spend years feeling guilty and ashamed. Don’t let that be you. Let go of your fears and shame now and start having the scenes you want!

Dr. Liz believes that great sex can change the world. She’s a sex educator, coach and licensed psychologist (CA 27871) specializing in queer, kinky, and non-monogamous relationships. Dr. Liz has helped couples and singles become more confident in who they are and communicate more effectively with their partners. You can learn more about Dr. Liz and her work at sexpositivepsych.com.

Modern Dating: A Safe, Practical, and Fun Approach

Wednesday, August 15th — 7:30 pm — $15

Stella HarrisMaybe you’re getting back into the dating game after a long break, or maybe dating has always seemed tricky — either way, this class will give you the knowledge and tools to dive in!

These days, everyone has heard of online dating, even if they’ve never tried it. For a variety of reasons, online dating sites are increasingly the way people meet each other. With everyone working more and more, meeting people the old fashioned way, through friends or social gatherings, isn’t always practical.

So what are the considerations when meeting someone online? We’ll talk about how to write a compelling profile and present yourself in a flattering (and honest!) way, as well as ways to stay safe when meeting someone for the first (or second, or third) time. You’ll also learn current information about STIs, ways to protect yourself, and communication skills for bringing up the conversation with potential partners.

This class will also include a brief overview of different relationship styles, such as open relationships, polyamory, and swinging, so that you can have the information you need to decide what you’re looking for, and you’ll know what other people mean if they say that’s what they’re into. By the end of this class there will be nothing stopping you from creating an awesome profile and going out to meet new people!

Stella Harris is an author, educator, and coach who focuses on intimacy and connection. As a certified Intimacy Educator, she uses a variety of tools to guide and empower her clients and she teaches everything from pleasure anatomy, to communication skills, to kink and BDSM. She has presented classes for a variety of organizations including the Portland Leather Alliance, the Portland Academy of Sex Ed, Sex Positive Portland, and more, and has spoken at Portland State University, Reed College, and Pacific University. Stella is widely published in print and online, from erotic fiction to educational and lifestyle pieces on sex and kink.

Stella hopes to build a world where everyone has the tools and confidence to explore their sexuality safely and free of shame.

Rope Bondage 201

Wednesday, July 25th — 7:30 p.m. — $20

You’ve taken the Introduction to Rope Bondage class and/or you’ve already learned the single column tie, double column tie, and basic chest harness. So, now what? It’s time to level up! In this 201 rope class Stella will show you how to put those ties together to create positions such as the hogtie and shrimp tie, and other positions that can be used for kink and sex. We’ll also dive deeper into rope handling, building intimacy and connection, and how to create a full scene with rope. We’ll demo these positions and techniques and give you time to practice them yourself.

Since these ties are more complex and intimate, you’ll get the most out of this class if you attend with a practice partner (please note that the $20 registration is per person), but folks who come alone may be able to pair off with other students. Please bring rope if you have it, but some practice rope will be available. Also, please bring a yoga mat and/or blanket because we’ll be on the floor for this class.
