    On each Tuesday in June, 10% of our sales will go to the Q Center, the wonderful LGBTQ community center just around the corner from us in North Portland. The Q Center is an absolute gem of an organization; here’s their description of what they do: Q Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to increase the visibility of and foster connection within metropolitan Portland’s Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Questioning (LGBTQ) community.     10% Tuesdays in May for TransActive’s In A Bind program

    Throughout the month of May, 10% of all purchases made at She Bop on Tuesdays will go to TransActive’s In A Bind program! TransActive is a Portland-based non-profit that provides a wide range of services to transgender and gender nonconforming children, youth, and their families. Their In A Bind program provides chest binders to trans-masculine youth in need. It is the first national chest binder donation/distribution program, with over 1,300 people on the waiting list for a binder. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to purchase binders from our distributor and donate them to TransActive. You are also welcome to visit the shop to donate binders. So come on…

    Each Tuesday this April, 10% of our sales at She Bop will go to Call to Safety (formerly Portland Women’s Crisis Line). Call to Safety is a hugely important organization that offers 24/7 support to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. They offer services such as a crisis line, safety planning, peer support, and referrals to community resources. Call to Safety is an invaluable asset to our community, and we are honored to be able to give back to them for the tireless work that they do. April is also Sexual Assault Awareness Month.     Throughout the month of January, 10% of our proceeds made on Tuesdays will be donated to In Other Words, a non-profit, volunteer-run, feminist community center in NE Portland. Their mission is to support, enrich, and empower the feminist community through literature, art, and educational and cultural events. In Other Words’ bookstore includes books on feminism, queer and transgender studies, sexuality, and activism/politics, as well as alternative children’s books that are not easily found at other bookstores.     10% Tuesdays in October for Bradley Angle

    October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we will be donating 10% of all in-store sales on Tuesdays this month to Bradley Angle, an organization whose mission is to offer survivors of domestic and sexual violence options for safety, empowerment, healing and hope, while collaborating with local communities to create social change. In 1975, Bradley Angle became the first domestic violence shelter on the West Coast (and only the 4th in the United States). Over the years, their services have expanded to include a 24-hour crisis line, transitional housing, support groups, community-based advocacy, and three programs unique to Oregon: culturally specific programming for African and African-American survivors, an economic empowerment program…
