    Our pledge to do better

Empowerment, education, and community are three of She Bop’s main values. We have stood by those values for ten years, but until recently, had neglected to look at the ways we have failed our community. We could have done better. We should do better. We pledge to do better. We did not question why few POC have applied to work with us. We did not do enough to ensure that our business is an inclusive and supportive place for Employees of Color. We did not put the time and energy into centering anti-racism in our business. We did not decline to carry some products that only came in “white” skin…

10% Tuesdays in January for Prism Health

We have a brand new 10% Tuesday organization! Throughout the month of January, visit us on any Tuesday and 10% of your purchase will go to Prism Health, a nonprofit health center in southeast Portland that offers safe, welcoming, and knowledgeable primary and mental healthcare for the LGBTQ+ community and beyond. LGBTQ+ people experience many health problems at a disproportionately high rate. At the same time, queer people are less likely than straight people to have a regular healthcare provider. Prism responds to these injustices by providing LGBTQ+ people with a space where they can show up, be seen, and experience healing as their whole self. Patients are treated on…

10% Tuesdays in October for Bradley Angle

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we will be donating 10% of all sales on Tuesdays this month to Bradley Angle, an organization whose mission is to offer survivors of domestic and sexual violence options for safety, empowerment, healing and hope, while collaborating with local communities to create social change. In 1975, Bradley Angle became the first domestic violence shelter on the West Coast (and only the 4th in the United States). Over the years, their services have expanded to include financial education, housing assistance, support groups, youth programs, and culturally responsive advocacy for LGBTQ, Black, and African American survivors of domestic violence. Hear the powerful stories of survivors who…

Throughout the month of August, 10% of our sales on Tuesdays will go to the non-profit organization Bitch Media. Bitch’s mission is to encourage an engaged, thoughtful feminist response to mainstream media and popular culture.
